Huntsville Center awards $45 Million ERCIP Architectural … – hnc.usace.army.mil

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville  awarded the Centralized Energy Resilience & Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) Architectural Engineering (AE) Services Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) Sept. 26.

The IDC’s seven awardees are: AECOM Technical Services, Inc., Arlington, Va.; Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. , Overland Park, Ks.; Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., Kansas City, Mo.; EXP Federal, Inc., Chicago, HDR, Inc., Ann Arbor, Mi.; Jacobs Government Services Company, Arlington, Va.; Tetra Tech + Mason & Hangar (Joint Ventu). Ann Arbor, Mi.

The objective of the ERCIP AE Services IDC is to provide expert energy system design, engineering, commissioning, and planning services to improve energy resilience, energy security and energy conservation on DoD installations. As the DoD deals with aging facilities and infrastructure, efforts must be made to conserve energy and reduce the Government’s consumption and carbon footprint. The Federal Government is the nation’s greatest energy consumer, consuming an estimated 2% of all energy used at a cost of approximately $25 Billion to taxpayers.

These energy savings projects are needed to reduce energy and water consumption, achieve facility improvements, improve the quality of life for the soldier and ultimately reduce overall energy costs for the U.S Government. ERCIP projects improve energy resilience, contribute to mission assurance, save energy, and reduce DoD’s energy costs through the design and construction of new, high-efficiency energy systems and technologies or through modernizing existing energy systems.

This acquisition will support energy resilience efforts and assist the U.S. Army in adhering to energy savings mandates. The work is intended to support locations inside the Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, and possessions IAW FAR 2.101, and outside the United States, to include Germany, and Belgium. The period of performance is a two year ordering period consisting of a 24 months base ordering period.
