The new range includes OMEN Transcend 16, OMEN 16 and Victus 16 laptops.

HP, with 30.2% market share in 2022, has the largest share in India’s PC industry. However, it had dipped 3.8% from a year earlier. Other players in the Indian PC and laptop industry include Dell Technologies with a share of 25.2% and Lenovo having 18.9% share.
The new launches may perhaps look to resurrect the lost market share, add to slowing revenues and also provide a stimulus amid a downtrend in laptop sales in recent quarters. Global shipments of laptops were 56.9 million in the first quarter of 2023, down 29% from a year earlier, according to preliminary results from IDC.
HP and its subsidiaries announced net revenue of $13.8 billion for the fiscal 2023 first quarter, down 18.8% from the prior-year period.HP seeks to make sure that its products are attractive to professional gamers who want to live stream their events to those who are always on the move and need a lighter gaming experience. To further enhance the gaming experience, HP introduced Omen playgrounds, a gaming community that will allow gamers to play games using HP products exclusively.
The number of esports players in India grew four-fold – 150,000 in 2021 to 600,000 in 2022 – and is expected to grow 2.5 times over the next five years, according to a report titled ‘State of India Gaming Report 2022’ from AWS and Lumikai.
