Hi, Barbie! | Featured News Story – Verizon

Today’s edition of Up To Speed Live was all about Turkey Day and how Verizon showed up big at the NYC Thanksgiving Day parade. Plus, we couldn’t let Black Friday and Cyber Monday pass without talking about new ways to shop for the holidays and take advantage of Verizon deals. Looking to give back to the community? We have some special donation opportunities.

Bringing the Thanksgiving Day parade across the nation and into your home

The 97th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a family tradition for millions (check out the video to find out Raquel’s parade tradition). But did you know It’s also an annual tradition for Verizon? We play an integral part of making the parade available to major networks so their customers can tune in and join the merriment.

Verizon Fios engineers were on the site a week ahead of time to provide connectivity to the vendors and public safety partners along the parade route.

This year, we upgraded our network along the parade route by equipping 14 sites with C-band, upgraded two sites from 150 megabits per second to 1 gigabits per second and more.

We’re always making our network even better, and our Test Force was on-site doing just that.

Deals to make your holiday jolly

Verizon customers with Samsung, Google Pixel and Apple phones are eligible for Verizon’s guaranteed trade-in offer. That’s any model, any condition, guaranteed – plus a tablet and watch for free.

Barbie Evans, a retail specialist running the Basking Ridge pop-up store, explained that they’re here to “make life a little easier” – and any purchase will be directly shipped to V Teamers.

Barbie’s favorite accessories

Barbie recommended any and all kinds of smartwatches for the health, wellness and sleep benefits (not to mention being able to put your phone down without missing a beat). She also suggests putting a tablet on your gift list for anyone who wants portability and a larger screen view.

Her favorite accessory of the season? Easy! Verizon’s great promotions.

Toys for Tots donation

Disney’s “Wish Upon on a StAR” AR charitable experience is a collaboration with Disney and Toys for Tots to give underprivileged children their holiday wishes in local communities nationwide.

If you’re in a participating office or Work Forward Engagement Hubs, bring in new, unwrapped toys for your local Toys for Tots chapter. (At Basking Ridge, bring your donation to the designated area near the Starbucks in the lobby.)

Stay on the lookout for a donation box at your hub and help make a child’s wish come true.

Verizon Business News
