Here’s where to find Easter events in the Inland Empire – The Press-Enterprise

From sunrise services to egg hunts, the Inland Empire is ready to celebrate Easter.

Events start as early as Saturday, April 1, and continue through Easter.

Here are some of the highlights.

Riverside County

HEMET

A free Easter Egg Hunt is set for Saturday, April 8, at Diamond Valley Lake Community Park.

Organized by the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, the event is at 1801 Angler Ave. It will include games, prizes and raffles.

Hunt times are:

  • 10:30 a.m., children ages 1 to 3
  • 10:35 a.m., children ages 4 and 5
  • 10:40 a.m., children ages 6 to 9
  • 10:40 a.m., children ages 10 to 12

The park is at 1806 Angler Ave.

MENIFEE

An Easter Egg Hunt at the Marion V. Ashley Community Center is scheduled for Saturday, April 8.

The event, hosted by the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, is free to those 12 and younger. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own baskets.

Hunt times are:

  • 10 a.m., children ages 1 to 6
  • 10:30 a.m., children ages 7 to 12

The center is at 25625 Briggs Road.

MORENO VALLEY

The Springtastic Festival and Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 1, at Sunnymead Park.

The free event is set for 9 a.m. to noon. Families are encouraged to bring their own baskets or bags. Visitors can enjoy games, food vendors and a youth fun zone with inflatables, a rock wall, crafts and carnival games.

Egg hunt times are:

  • 9:15 a.m., children ages 2 to 4
  • 9:45 a.m., children ages 5 to 8
  • 10:15 a.m., children with special needs
  • 10:45 a.m., children ages 9 to 12

The park is at 12655 Perris Blvd.

MORENO VALLEY

Adults can search for eggs at the Adult Flashlight Egg Scramble event Saturday, April 1.

The event will be at Lasselle Sports Park, 17155 Lasselle St., from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Participants can hunt for 10,000 eggs in the dark. They will be filled with candy and bigger prizes such as gaming systems, tablets, gift cards and laptops.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp and their own baskets or bags.

The event is limited to the first 1,000 who register on the city’s website.

MURRIETA

An Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 8, at Rancho Bella Vista Park.

The event, organized by the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, is free to children 12 and younger. The hunt starts at 10 a.m.

Attendees are urged to bring their own baskets.

The park is at 31757 Browning St.

NORCO

Norco’s Springtastic Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 8, at the Wayne Makin Shearer Sports Complex.

The free event will include selfies with the Easter Bunny, balloon art, face painting and food vendors.

Egg hunts times are:

  • 9:30 a.m., ages 1 and 2
  • 9:45 a.m., ages 3 to 5
  • 10 a.m., ages 6 to 9
  • 10:15 a.m. for ages 10 to 12

An adaptive egg hunt will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

The complex is at 3364 Western Ave.

PERRIS

An egg hunt for children ages 12 and under is set for Saturday, April 1, at Perris City Hall.

The event, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will include photos with the Easter Bunny. Breakfast can be purchased. The cost is $10 for children 5 and older. Those 4 and younger are free with a paid adult.

The event will move to the Bob Glass Gymnasium if it rains. City Hall is at 101 N. D St.

RIVERSIDE

The 114th traditional sunrise service atop Mount Rubidoux is set for Easter Sunday, April 9.

The 6 a.m. event is the “United States’ longest-running outdoor Easter sunrise service,” a news release from Word of Life church in Riverside states.

The program will be live-streamed at riversideeasterservice.com, and will include worship and messages from three Riverside pastors. This year’s theme is “This Same Jesus.”

Parking is available at Ryan Bonaminio Park, 5000 Tequesquite Ave. The hike up the mountain takes about 45 minutes.

RIVERSIDE

The 14th Annual DragonMarsh Peep Show is set for Saturday, April 1, from noon to 4 p.m.

The show will feature marshmallow Peep-themed activities, including the Best Dressed Peep Contest, games, Peep jousting and a photo station. The free event is at the Riverside Main Library, 3900 Mission Inn Ave.

RIVERSIDE

A Spring Eggstravaganza is set for Saturday, April 1.

The event, set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will include egg hunts, vendors and photos with Peter Rabbit. It also will include a Fun Zone with crafts, game booths, inflatable jumpers and train rides. Egg hunts will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will be staggered by age group. Wrist bands must be purchased for $12 at the registration booth for the Fun Zone.

The event is organized by the Riverside Parks and Recreation Department, and will be at Ryan Bonaminio Park at Tequesquite Arroyo, 5000 Tequesquite Ave.

San Bernardino County

CHINO HILLS

The Easter Egg-Citement event is set for Saturday, April 8, at Chino Hills Community Park.

It will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park, 3280 Eucalyptus Ave. The free event will include egg hunts, photos with the Easter Bunny, a craft fair, musical entertainment, activities and refreshments.

Hunt times are:

  • 10:30 a.m., infants to age 2
  • 11 a.m., ages 3 and 4
  • 11:30 a.m., ages 5 and 6
  • noon, ages 7 and 8
  • 12:30 p.m., ages 9 to 12

Parents may help children who are 6 and younger. A smaller hunt will be staged for special-needs children between 10 a.m. and noon. The city will provides bags to collect eggs.

MONTCLAIR

The Easter Eggstravaganza and Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, April 8.

The event, set for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., is at Alma Hofman Park, 5201 Benito St. Guests can enjoy photos with the Easter Bunny, games, activities, free candy-filled Easter eggs and treats. A limited number of prize eggs will be available for children 12 and younger. Children are asked to bring bags or baskets to collect eggs. The pancake breakfast is $5.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA

The Egg Shellebration will be Saturday, April 1, at  the Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter Sports Complex.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the complex, 8408 Rochester Ave. It will include an egg hunt, food vendors, games and crafts. A $10 wrist band is required for ages 2 to 12 to participate in the hunt. Registration is required for an egg-hunt time slot. A hunt will be staged for special-needs children.

CLAREMONT

The Spring Celebration will be Saturday, April 8, at Memorial Park.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd.

A pancake breakfast will take place at 8 a.m. The event will include a live petting zoo, magic show, interactive booths and photos with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny. An inclusive egg hunt is scheduled for 9 a.m. This will be an adaptive and sensory-friendly hunt at which parents may assist children. A traditional egg hunt for ages 3 to 12 will begin at 10:45 a.m. Free goodie bags for children 2 and younger will be available at 9 a.m.
