Heidi Klum hits out at 'bunch of c**p' as calorie count claims spark backlash

Heidi Klum has recently found herself at the center of a controversy, as fans express concerns about her dietary choices and the potential message they might send to her followers.

On August 20th, Klum shared in an Instagram Story that her day begins with a low-fat breakfast featuring three poached eggs in warm chicken broth.

Though the America’s Got Talent star didn’t go into further detail, reports claim that Klum adheres to a daily intake of just 900 calories.

This reporting of Klum’s diet quickly rang alarm bells among fans, who questioned the extreme nature of her eating habits.

Klum addressed the issue lightly when a fan asked about her weight, humorously stating that her scale likely wasn’t functional anymore.

She playfully mentioned, “It must have gotten completely dusty,” while sharing her weight as 138 pounds in a subsequent Instagram Story.

On August 22, Klum took to her stories again, sharing multiple screenshots of articles reporting her alleged 900-calorie diet.

Klum stated that friends were sending her articles about her 900-calorie diet and she said this is entirely false.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had to count my calories in my life,” Klum explained.

“I don’t count my calories,” she repeated, before going on to call out false reporting and critique lazy journalism.

Klum continued in her Instagram story, “People just write a bunch of c**p and it’s really sad because there is no real journalism anymore, people just make up stories, one person writes it and then everyone jumps on it.”

The America’s Got Talent judge ended her story with a final lament on the misreporting of her diet and calorie intake, “It’s really sad… people read that, and that’s not good.”

The Daily Mail reported that Klum stated she stuck to 900 calories daily but the original Instagram Q&A stories posted by Klum have since expired, leaving only Klum’s refute of these claims visible.
