HDFC AMC Q3 Results: Profit up 3% YoY to Rs 369.5 crore


HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC) reported 3% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its December quarter net profit at Rs 369.5 crore on Tuesday. The HDFC Group company’s revenue from operations in Q3 rose 2% YoY to Rs 559.6 crore.

During the quarter, the company’s operating profit from core asset management business was flat at Rs 397.4 crore.

HDFC AMC said that it had a Quarterly Average Assets Under Management (QAAUM) market share of 11%. “The ratio of equity oriented AUM and non-equity oriented closing AUM is ~55:45, compared to the industry ratio of 50:50 as on December 31,2022,” it said.


As of December 31, 2022, 66% of the company’s total monthly average AUM is contributed by individual investors compared to 58% for the industry.

In an exchange filing, the company said that it had a market share of 12.8% of the individual monthly average AUM in the industry, making it one of the most preferred choices of individual investors.

Total Live Accounts stood at 10.8 million as on December 31, 2022. Currently, unique customers as identified by PAN or PEKRN stand at 6.3 million as on December 31, 2022 compared to 36.7 million for the industry, a market share of 17%.

After the announcement of the quarterly earnings, the stock ended 2% lower at Rs 1,959.80. The underperforming stock, which is down nearly 12% in the last one year, had buy calls from 11 out of 16 analysts covering the scrip. Only one analyst has a sell rating on HDFC AMC, showed Trendlyne data. The average share price target of Rs 2,305.8 signals an upside potential of around 17%.
