Google has made it easier to create highlight videos.

Google has made it easier to create highlight videos.

Google Photos’ new AI-powered features let you create quick highlight videos, and it barely takes any time at all. Here’s what you need to know.

There must have been many times when you wanted to create a quick highlight video for your social media feed but felt too lazy to get started. Or perhaps, there are just too many videos and photos from a certain vacation, and you simply want your phone to select the best ones. Well, Google Photos’ new AI-powered features let you create quick highlight videos on the fly—and it barely takes any time at all.

This could be for a recent vacation, your child’s birthday, or perhaps,  if you want to make a video detailing a quick recap of an event or an activity. The feature is called ‘Highlight Video,’ and it is available inside the Google Photos app.

However, the feature isn’t available for everyone just yet and is starting to roll out on Android and iOS. It should reach everyone gradually in a staged manner.

To use the Highlights video feature, follow the steps listed below:

  • Open Google Photos and tap on the ‘+’ icon in the top right.
  • Select ‘Highlight Video’ from the menu.
  • Now, you can search for specific people, places, and even mention the time or date you want the video for.
  • That’s it! Google will do the rest for you, including choosing the best clips and photos, using appropriate music, and arranging the media files for you in a presentable manner. If you want to adjust the position of a certain file, you can do so.
