Gmail users hail 'game-changing' free email upgrade but have you spotted it yet?

Hate trying to clear your Gmail inbox of endless junk messages and digital clutter? Google may finally be offering the perfect solution thanks to a useful free update from the firm. It appears that some users of the popular email application are starting to see the option to ‘Select all’ when browsing their inbox.

As the name suggests, once clicked all of the emails on the screen instantly become highlighted making it much easier and faster to delete batches of messages or move them all at once. Before this change was released, users had to click on each individual message to highlight them which can be a pretty laborious task.

Select all might not sound that thrilling but it’s got a lot of users excited with one calling it a “game changer”.

“This has been a long overdue change,” said Android fan named Drizza. Whilst another called Ozzfan added, “I didn’t notice before until you pointed it out, but that’s a game changer.”

The ‘Select all’ update appears to be rolling out on Android phones now so it’s worth checking your inbox to see if it’s arrived on your device already.

If it has received the upgrade, you should now see the option to “Select all” at the top of your inbox.

Those not finding it should check and install the very latest Gmail Android app update available via Google’s Play Store.

Don’t worry if you think this change is going to kill your entire inbox as it won’t.

Only messages seen on the screen (maximum of 50) will get highlighted so you won’t lose everything when you tap delete.
