Earlier this year, Toyota revealed the FT-SE concept vehicle, previewing a new Toyota electric sports car from the Tokyo-based brand. It seems the GR-branded car will let owners download different engine sounds and driving dynamics to provide a thrilling and unique experience for Toyota sports EV owners.
Speaking to Top Gear about potential features, chief branding officer Simon Humphries suggested these downloadable features. “How about downloading your favorite engine sound and driving dynamics, and you could truly create your own unique experiences, all the while emitting only smiles.”
This would be great fun for EV owners, especially those who miss the sound of a combustion engine. You could have a grumbly V8 or a soulful V12, depending on your mood. Perhaps you could even download the iconic V10 sound of ’90s Formula 1 cars. But could this actually work?
