Friends stars' net worths – and tragic Matthew Perry was one of the richest

Matthew Perry, along with his Friends co-stars, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow, started out making just about $20,000 per episode when the show premiered in 1994.

During the final season – after they famously banded together for equal raises – the group was earning just over $860,000 per episode.

Friends also propelled the entire cast into being some of the most sought-after names in Hollywood.

Leading some of them onto the big screen, while others chose to star in other acclaimed series.

The cast of Friends all have an insane net worth thanks to the show, and Matthew had one of the largest, making his sudden death all the more tragic.

At the top of the list is Jennifer Aniston with a net worth of about $320 million according to Cosmopolitan.

The Morning Show star also makes around $20 million a year as of 2023, meaning her net worth will only get larger.

Courteney Cox comes in second with an estimated net worth of $150 million according to Parade. After Friends, Courteney went on to star in multiple Scream films and the sitcom Cougar Town.

Lisa Kudrow reportedly has a net worth of $130 million thanks to her continued work after Friends. She garnered critical acclaim on HBO’s The Comeback playing a has-been sitcom star.

Matthew comes in fourth with a net worth of $120 million.

He has been acting since childhood and starred in a few different series and movies after the end of Friends, but it is assumed the bulk of his money came from the hit show and its residuals it pays out to the cast to this day.

David Schwimmer also has a net worth estimated to be $120 million, while Matt LeBlanc is worth a cool $85 million.

When the cast of Friends reunited in 2021, they were all paid millions for the one hour special.

Matthew was found dead on Saturday in his Los Angeles home, shortly after he returned from playing pickleball with friends.

The Friends star reportedly drowned in his hot tub, with his family later confirming the news of his passing in a brief statement.

There was no indication of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene of his death.

His cause of death is pending a toxicology report according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office.
