DRIVERS filling up at Tesco after June 13 will no longer get one Clubcard point for every £2 spent on fuel.
Instead, they’ll collect a point for every two litres.
It means fewer points at current fuel prices.
But there’s no limit to the number of fuel loyalty schemes you can join.
Using the cheapest forecourt in your area likely trumps any particular loyalty club in the long term.
Prices constantly change so check the best locally using PetrolPrices.com.
Then sign up to the schemes below, as well as Clubcard, to collect points wherever you go . . .
NECTAR: Collect one Nectar point (worth 0.5p) with every litre of fuel at Sainsbury’s and Esso stations.
You would typically need to buy 200 litres to earn £1, which can be spent with partners including Sainsbury’s.
Drivers can use 300 Nectar points (worth £1.50) to get 5p off a litre of fuel on one fill-up.
This point swap will give bigger savings the more petrol you buy.
SHELL GO PLUS: Get a fuel reward after every tenth visit.
Spending at least £2 in the shop or £10 on fuel counts as a visit.
You could earn money off faster by filling up smaller amounts more frequently.
However, the reward value varies and is based on how much you have purchased during your visits so in reality it makes little difference how much your fill-up on each visit.
BP: As with Nectar, you can earn one point, worth 0.5p, when buying one litre of regular fuel at BP through its reward scheme BPme.
You can also get two points per litre if you are buying Ultimate fuel, as well as one point for each £1 spent in shops.
Under the scheme, 500 points is worth £2.50 and can be used to buy fuel or spend with partners including Amazon.
Or you can convert points to Avios if you are a member of the scheme.
SPECIALS: Until April 23, if you spend £35 in store or online at Morrisons you get a coupon for 5p off every litre of fuel bought from the supermarket’s petrol stations.
Make sure to redeem your coupons by May 1.
