Connecting your bank accounts is a quick process and it starts analysing your spending almost immediately.
The app shows where you’re up to in your spending that month, as well as your spending patterns over the last year.

GET THE LOWDOWN: If you want detailed analysis of your spending without the jargon, the Snoop app is a great option.
Link your accounts and start getting weekly and monthly reports so you can see where your money is going.

USE THE ENVELOPE METHOD: The Goodbudget app is a super-simple tool for those who don’t want to connect their bank accounts, and it’s great for family budgeting.
It uses the “envelope method” to help control your household spending.
Input your expected income and create categories such as eating out, bills and travel. You set your budget for each, add expenses throughout the month, and it will keep a running total of what’s left so you are on top of it.
KEEP IT SIMPLE: If you prefer a more manual method to stay on top of your finances, head to Moneysavingexpert.co.uk for its budget planner. Download the spreadsheet or print one out and fill in your outgoings.
You can then use that to set budgets and stay on track.
