If you’re planning an online shop, here’s how to make sure you get the best bang for your buck . . .
COMPARE COSTS: You can compare the cheapest supermarket for your particular shop by going online at supermarketwizard.com.

SAVE ON DELIVERY: If you can be more flexible on times for delivery, you may be able to get cheaper charges.

A monthly or yearly delivery pass can also you save you cash if you are getting online shops regularly.
The cost varies by supermarket so do your sums to work out if it’s a good deal for you.
CHECK IT OVER: When your food shop arrives at the door, ensure you are happy with what you have received.
Open eggs boxes to check for damage and examine fruit and veg to make sure it’s all in good condition.
You may also want to confirm you are happy with any expiry dates on fresh products.
If you are not happy with any items, give them back to your driver and ask for a refund.
ESTIMATED COSTS: When you do your food shop online, most of the supermarkets give an estimated cost rather than an exact final price.
This is because if certain products aren’t available, you may be given substitutions — with a difference in price tag.
Loose produce is also given an estimated price if it needs weighing.
If you are allocated items that are significantly more expensive than what you expected, you can opt for a refund at the point of delivery.
You can also usually specify on the order if you don’t want certain items to be substituted.
