Hundreds of users are reporting problems with Fortnight, with 588 instances currently logged on Downdetector today.
People said they were unable to access the video game platform, with hotspots of issues across the UK.
It came as a major update was released, with users getting messages that servers were offline.
Some said they could not log in at all.
One user wrote on X: ‘Just got a queue for fortnite but it still says servers not responding interesting must be near!’
The games platform updated to say that the downtime had ended, with users now able to play the latest update.
Fortnite wrote this morning: ‘We have temporarily disabled Reload while we work to resolve an issue. We will let you know once the service is fully restored.’
They later updated: ‘Downtime for v33.00 has ended!’
