If the thought of splashing out £800 on a flagship Galaxy S25 sounds like far too much for your wallet to bear – there are two much cheaper options now available. The Korean technology company recently announced the launch of its latest low-cost A-series call makers, called the Galaxy A56 5G and A36 5G. These devices come packed with blockbuster features at a much cheaper price than the S25 range, and now things have just become even more affordable.
The A36 and Galaxy A56 both have expansive 6.7-inch OLED screens, fast 45W charging, 256GB of storage, and stereo speakers. They also include a triple-lens rear snapper with a wide-angle lens, night mode, and decent video recording. The A56 does get a slightly improved ultra-wide lens.
Upgraded designs with matte edges, along with a number of colours, are also available. Once again the A56 beats its cheaper sibling by offeirng a more premium aluminium frame.
For those daily digital tasks, the A36 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, whilst the A56 uses Samsung’s own Exynos 1580 chipset, which supplies a little bit of extra oomph.
They both include Intelligent upgrades, such as smart Circle to Search, which finds things on the web just by circling an image and they can retouch your photos thanks to Object Eraser (which removes unwanted photo bombers).
The Galaxy A56 even gets a new mode called ‘best face’. This option takes a series of shots of your friends and switches the faces automatically so no one blinks or looks unhappy in the final image.
Perhaps best of all, both the A36 and A56 come with six years of Android and security updates, meaning they’ll be fully up-to-date and secure with free software upgrades until 2031.
