Europa League knockout stages: How to watch and schedule for playoff matches

The UEFA Europa League for the 2023/24 season resumes on February 15, marking the beginning of the Round of 16 playoffs, which sets the stage for the final showdown on May 22.

Unlike its counterpart, the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League introduces a playoff stage before advancing to the Round of 16.

These playoffs entail two-legged knockout ties pitting teams that secured second place in their Europa League groups against selected teams that finished third in their Champions League groups at the close of 2024.

As anticipation builds for these matches, The Sporting News provides a comprehensive overview of the crucial details, including global viewing options, kickoff times, and the latest lineup updates.

Europa League Round of 16 schedule 2024
The eight Europa League group winners hold the seeded positions for the Round of 16. They are set to encounter the victors of the eight playoff ties, scheduled to commence on March 7, 2024.

From this stage onward, the Europa League transitions into a single-elimination format. Teams advancing based on aggregate scores in the two-legged Round of 16 matches move forward to the quarterfinals. These quarterfinal fixtures, also contested over two legs, are slated for April 11 and 18.
