The Economic Times has announced the schedule for its ‘Digital Transformation for Manufacturing’ course which is designed to help manufacturers stay competitive in today’s rapidly changing business landscape.

The six-week program being conducted in partnership with NASSCOM Center of Excellence – IOT & AI and Indian SME Accelerator Network (ISAN) would help equip the Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the manufacturing sector with the capabilities necessary to leverage the advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR).

The course will focus on Industry 4.0 also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the role of artificial intelligence in manufacturing. Experts will also train participants about the ethical and legal considerations that come with implementing AI in the workplace. The by-invite program which will be free for selectees will also cover the Internet of Things and its potential to transform manufacturing operations.

One of the key takeaways of the course will be the importance of real-time data and how it can be used to improve operations, increase efficiency, and boost profits. Participants can register for the program which will be delivered in a hybrid format with virtual and physical sessions. Lectures, case studies, and interactive sessions would train the participants to improve productivity, efficiency, and reduce operational costs.

In addition to the technical aspects of digital transformation, the course will also cover the leadership and management skills needed to successfully lead a digital transformation. Participants will learn about the key stakeholders involved in digital transformation, how to communicate the value of digital technologies to different audiences, and how to develop a strategic plan for digital transformation.

Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of experts in the field, including experienced manufacturing leaders, digital transformation consultants, and technology experts. Reputed industry mentors from institutions like IIT Madras, companies like Intel, Oracle, Ernst & Young and manufacturing companies would train the participants.Week 1 of the program is scheduled to begin on January 28, 2023. 1. Samip Mutha, Vice President and Head – Digital and Innovation, RPG Group:
Samip Mutha is a strategist who assists businesses in leveraging digital and innovation to build and transform their businesses. Mutha will be delivering the Keynote Address on Digital Transformation and Manufacturing Excellence. He would also highlight the key factors that SME leaders need to consider before starting the digital journey.

2. Amit Saluja, Sr. Director and Centre Head, NASSCOM CoE, Gandhinagar:
Amit Saluja will hold a session on making SMEs globally competitive with digital by providing insights on the current landscape of digital adoption across India in the manufacturing sector.

3. Shridhar Ravikumar, TUV SUD – Singapore:
Shridhar Ravikumar is a seasoned consultant who specialises in Industry 4.0 and advanced manufacturing solutions. Ravikumar helps clients in solving complex operational challenges.

He will hold a session on Driving Digitalisation in Plant – how to start a digital journey using a step-by-step approach.

4. Shalini Dabholkar, Chief Operating Officer, India SME Accelerator Network:
Shalini Dabholkar will hold a session on action planning and guidance on implementation of digitalisation within own manufacturing plants through a structured action plan.
