Equity mutual funds see inflows of Rs 15,685.57 crore in February


The equity mutual fund category witnessed higher inflows of Rs 15,685.57 crore in February, compared to Rs 12,546.51 crore in January 2023. All equity categories saw inflows in February. Sectoral/thematic funds lead the inflow chart in the equity category. Sectoral/thematic category received a total inflow of Rs 3,855.90 crore. Small Cap funds saw inflows of Rs 2,246.30 crore. Dividend yield funds witnessed the lowest inflow of Rs 47.93 crore.

The debt category saw an outflow of Rs 13,815.23 crore in February, as against an outflow of Rs 10,316.15 crore in January 2023. The liquid fund category witnessed an outflow of Rs 11,304.25 crore. The debt category has been witnessing outflows for the last three months. Ultra Short Term Funds, Low Duration Funds, Floater Funds, Credit Risk Funds, Money Market Funds, Medium Duration Funds, Banking and PSU Fund, and Medium to Long Duration Fund saw outflows. Overnight Funds received inflows of Rs 2,945.84 crore.

The hybrid category witnessed net inflows of Rs 460.32 crore in February, against an inflow of Rs 4,491.97 crore in January. All hybrid categories recorded inflows, except for Equity Savings Fund and Conservative Hybrid Fund. Equity Savings Funds saw an outflow of Rs 205.68 crore and Conservative Hybrid Funds saw an outflow of Rs 92.33 crore. Multi Asset Allocation Funds attracted total inflows of Rs 510.51 crore, followed by Balanced Hybrid Fund/Aggressive Hybrid Fund which attracted a total inflow of Rs 125.36 crore.

The ‘others’ category – which includes Index Funds and ETFs – saw a total inflow of Rs 6,488.18 crore in February as against an inflow of Rs 3,954.59 crore in January. The total inflows in passive funds increased by 64%. Index Funds attracted a total inflow of Rs 6,244.30 crore, followed by Gold ETFs which saw an inflow of Rs 165.42 crore.

The total assets under management (AUM) in February stood at Rs 39.46 lakh crore as against Rs 39.62 lakh crore in January 2023.

Around 21 open-ended NFOs mobilized total funds of Rs 6,233 crore in February. While 6 close-ended NFOs mobilized Rs 954 crore in February.
