In the calendar year 2023, the equity category received a total inflow of Rs 48,766.29 crore.
The debt category witnessed a total outflow of Rs 56,884.13 crore in March 2023, against a total outflow of Rs 13,815.23 crore in February 2023. Among debt categories, liquid funds saw the highest outflow of Rs 56,924.13 crore, followed by money market funds. Money market funds saw outflows of Rs 11,421.65 crore.
The category that gained investors interest was corporate bond funds. The category received a total inflow of Rs 15,626.16 crore. Medium to long duration fund received the lowest inflow of Rs 128.21 crore.
In the calendar year 2023, the debt category has seen total outflows of Rs 81,015.51 crore.
The ‘others’ category, which includes Index Funds and ETFs, received total inflows of Rs 26,804.09 crore in March 2023, against an inflow of Rs 6,488.18 crore. Index funds and fund of funds (overseas) witnessed inflows, whereas gold ETF and other ETFs saw outflows. Index funds witnessed the highest inflow of Rs 27,228.30 crore. Other ETFs saw outflows of Rs 330.60 crore. In the calendar year 2023, the category received a total inflow of Rs 37,246.86 crore.
The hybrid category witnessed a total outflow of Rs 12,372.04 crore in March 2023, against an inflow of Rs 460.32 crore in February 2023. Arbitrage funds saw the highest outflow of Rs 12,157.56 crore, followed by equity savings funds. Equity savings fund saw an outflow of Rs 497.39 crore. Only multi asset allocation and conservative hybrid funds saw inflows during the month. Multi asset allocation witnessed an inflow of Rs 473.22 crore and conservative hybrid fund saw an inflow of Rs 282.86 crore.
In the calendar year 2023, the hybrid category saw an outflow of Rs 7,419.76 crore.
The total assets under management (AUM) of the industry in March 2023 was at Rs 39.42 lakh crore, compared to Rs 39.46 lakh crore in February 2023.
A total of 22 open-ended NFOs were floated in March which together mobilized total funds of Rs 4,618 crore, while 21 close-ended NFOs mobilized Rs 3,878 crore in March.
