How to link your new mobile number with EPF UAN
Step 1: Visit EPFO India website – https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php click on ‘For Employees’
Step 2: Click on Member UAN/ Online services
Step 3: Login using UAN and password. Enter OTP to login.
Step 4: Under manage, click on ‘Contact details’
Step 5: Click on verify, change mobile number
Step 6: Enter Aadhaar linked mobile number. Click on Get OTP and Submit the same.
If you don’t have your previous number with you, in that case you will have to register mobile number with Aadhaar. After that click on Forgot password on the login page. Enter UAN and captcha code. Enter name, DOB and gender. Enter captcha code and Aadhaar linked mobile number and click OTP.
UAN activated Members may know their latest PF contribution and balance available with EPFO by sending an SMS at 7738299899 from registered mobile number. “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899.

SMS should be sent from the registered mobile number of UAN. EPFO sends last PF contribution and balance details of the member along with available KYC information. Facility is available in 10 (ten) languages.
Importance of registered mobile number
Employees PF balance and notifications regarding employer contributions will be sent to the registered mobile number. If you have not updated your new number, your PF balance and monthly contribution information will be made known to that person if your mobile number is that of someone else. You can only file e-nominations and claims using a mobile number that is linked to your Aadhaar. Aadhaar-linked mobile number is must for updating any KYC.
However, if the Aadhaar number is not shown under the verified documents tab, then you will be required to link your UAN with Aadhaar.
How to link UAN with Aadhaar using Umang app
Here are the steps for linking UAN to Aadhaar using the UMANG App:
Step 1: Input your UAN
Step 2: An OTP will be sent to the UAN registered mobile number
Step 3: After OTP verification, input Aadhaar details
Step 4: Another OTP will be sent on Aadhaar registered mobile number and email
Step 5: After OTP verification, Aadhaar will be linked with UAN
How to link UAN with Aadhaar through member portal
Another method to link UAN with Aadhaar is by visiting the member portal of EPF. Follow the steps below to link your UAN with Aadhaar.
Step 1: Log in to the Unified Portal of EPF i.e. https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/
Step2: Click on the ‘Manage’ tab and select the ‘KYC’ option.
Step 3: Select ‘Aadhaar’ option. Enter your Aadhaar number and name as per Aadhaar.
Step 4: Click on the “save” button. Once it is saved, it will show under ‘pending KYC’. This will go to your employer for Approval. Once approved, it will be shown under ‘Approved KYC’.
