Emanuel welcomes Keeper Security to Tokyo for office opening – Crain's Chicago Business

The Tokyo office will be the Asia-Pacific headquarters for Keeper, which makes password-security and other cybersecurity software. Asia-Pacific is the company’s fastest-growing geography.

Keeper got its start in 2011 as a consumer app but moved into the business-to-business market eight years ago. The company raised $60 million from Insight Venture Partners in 2020.

One new area of of business for Keeper is identity-access management, a sector that Gartner forecasts to reach $24 billion by 2024, up 50% over three years. Consumer security software is growing about half that rate and is expected to reach $10.1 billion in 2024.

Since 2020, the company has more than doubled its overall headcount to about 375, says Guccione, who declined to disclose the company’s revenue. The Tokyo office opens with 13 employees but has capacity for 125 people. The company is headquartered in Fulton Market and runs its Europe, Middle East and Africa business from Cork, Ireland.

The company recently raised what it says is a significant minority investment from Summit Partners, a private-equity firm based in Boston. Guccione declined to disclose the funding amount or Keeper’s valuation.
