Duncan: Transportation ideas studied for Sun City are ridiculous … – Daily Independent

By Hugh Duncan, Sun City

I just learned that the Arizona Legislature is allocating $850,000 to study improved transportation options for Sun City.

They are focusing on such ridiculous ideas as aerial trams, light rail, street cars and monorails.

For starters, please just bring back our low cost Dial-a-Ride for the general public in Sun City. Some 10% of our seniors are below the poverty line. Dial-a-Ride is currently only available to the Americans with Disabilities Act population of Sun City.

That $850,000 would provide a lot of rides to the doctor or to the grocery store for our low-income seniors!
