Dun & Bradstreet to help make farmer producer organisations export ready

The global provider of business decisioning data and analytics says the arrangement is part of several unique solutions it will provide to help FPOs expand their global market access, increase visibility, find potential customers and identify growth opportunities.

The Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S Number will be made available to all FPOs as part of the initiative. The D-U-N-S Number is a nine-digit proprietary numbering sequence that is assigned to all types of organisations and is a “Live Business Identity” throughout its lifecycle. The number is recognised, recommended and required by many governments, trade and industry organisations around the globe. The company claims 2.5 lakh global and domestic customers leverage Dun & Bradstreet’s data cloud for decision making.

“D&B will give the DUNS Number to all the FPOs to make them a part of the global database of Dun & Bradstreet. This will help them increase their visibility in the global market and, in turn, the possibility to increase the export business as well. D&B will also give the value-added products like Duns Registered Solution (global credibility solution available in 175 countries) and Hoovers (a global lead generation platform) at discounted rates to CBBOs to help FPOs explore and expand their reach in the global markets,” the company added.

Explaining how the D-U-N-S Number can benefit the FPOs, Preeta Misra, Senior Director, CBIG, ESG and SME, Dun & Bradstreet India, says, “The D-U-N-S Number is recognised, recommended and required by over 240 governments, trade, and industry organisations around the globe. The D-U-N-S Number will help FPOs build credibility and they will find it easier to get noticed globally, which will level the competitive playing field for them.”
It would also offer value-added services such as D&B D-U-N-S RegisteredTM Solutions and D&B ESG Intelligence at discounted prices to the FPOs.

Agriculture experts in the country have lauded D&B’s move. Rahul Chauhan, Director at commodity market research firm, IGrain India, says, “This partnership will help India in increasing production by using the latest technologies and trade practices. In India, despite fertile land, our productivity of almost all crops is much lower than in many countries. All developed countries are using many modern technologies, improved seeds, and irrigation technology.”
