Doris Marguerite Spotts | News, Sports, Jobs – The Adirondack Daily Enterprise

Doris Marguerite Spotts, 78, of Lake Placid passed away unexpectedly at home on Sept. 18, 2023. She was born in Lake Placid on July 15, 1945 to Earl Blinn and his wife Mary Marguerite Donnelly.

A lifelong resident of Lake Placid, Doris graduated from Lake Placid High School, and continued on to work for the Shea Family at both Shea’s Market and Mirror Lake Liquor Store. For most of her life she was a caretaker for multiple great camps on Lake Placid. She retired as caretaker in 2020.

Doris was a very generous person, and thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. Undoubtedly, many of you may have enjoyed some of her famous baked ziti or banana nut bread at some point. She also enjoyed tending to her gardens and plants, observing the critters at her bird feeders, soaking in lots of sunshine, and doting on her beloved grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her husband of 53 years, Chuck Spotts; their sons, Stuart (Laurie) and Spencer (Christy) Spotts; her brother Pat (Sue) Blinn; her grandchildren, Hunter, Tristan, and Sofia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Marguerite Blinn, her sisters, Frances Perkins, Gwendolyn Watson, Mary Anne Woodruff, and Gertrude Hammer and brother, Richard Brownie Blinn.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Sept. 21 from 5-7 p.m. at M. B. Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. John Yonkovig will officiate. A celebration of life will immediately follow at Craig Wood Golf Course Club House.
