ETMutualFunds looked at data and found out that several mutual funds had investments in the Adani Group companies like Adani Enterprise, Adani Green Energy, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Adani Power Ltd., Adani Total Gas., Adani Transmission, Adani Wilmar, Ambuja Cement, and ACC Ltd.
Mutual funds had the highest holding of around Rs 8,204.01 in Ambuja Cement, followed by Rs 7,996.16 crore in Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and Rs 5,097.67 crore in Adani Enterprise.
According to mutual funds, since some of these stocks are part of indices, index schemes, and ETFs will have exposure to them. Note, mutual funds report their portfolios for the previous month, the latest data data available is for December 2022.

SBI Mutual Fund had the highest exposure of Rs 6,142 crore in Adani group, followed by UTI Mutual Fund with around Rs 2,333.26 crore exposure. SBI Mutual Fund’s highest exposure was in Adani Enterprises, followed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone ( Rs 1816.40 crore).
UTI Mutual Fund had a total exposure of Rs 2,333.26 crore, with around Rs 863.29 crore in Adani Enterprises Ltd. It also had exposure in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone ( Rs 727.37 crore).Kotak Mutual Fund had total exposure of Rs 2,329.22 crore in Adani Group companies. It invested around Rs 1,080 crore in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, and Rs 661.39 crore in Ambuja Cements.
Nippon India Mutual Fund had total exposure of Rs 2095.40 crore. It had exposure in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (Rs 689.21 crore), and Ambuja Cements ( Rs 663.20 crore).
ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund had an exposure of Rs 2,091.58 crore. It had investments around Rs 692.68 in Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone. It also had investments in Ambuja Cement (Rs 505.98 crore).

Adani Power Ltd. – In Adani Power Ltd., Kotak Mutual Fund had the highest holding of around Rs 3.86 crore which is followed by ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund had a holding of Rs 1.01 crore as on December 2022 which was reduced from Rs 1.15 crore as on November 2022. The other fund house that had exposure in Adani Power Ltd were Nippon India Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, and UTI Mutual Fund. Only ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund had prior holding in the company whereas the mutual fund houses mentioned above didn’t had prior exposure.

Adani Total Gas Ltd. – Nippon India Mutual Fund had the highest holding in Adani Total Gas Ltd of around Rs 119.65 crore which is followed by UTI Mutual Fund which had holding of around Rs 116.96 crore. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund was third in the list that had holding of around Rs 112.08 crore.

Adani Transmission Ltd. – Nippon India Mutual Fund had the highest holding of around Rs 86.67 crore in Adani Transmission Ltd followed by UTI Mutual Fund that had holding of around Rs 83.18 crore. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund was third on the list, which had holding of Rs 80.16 crore.

Adani Wilmar Ltd. – Nippon India Mutual Fund had the highest holding of around Rs 6.05 crore followed by Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund which had holding of around Rs 4.96 crore. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund was third in the list that had holding of around Rs 1.44 crore. The other five fund houses that had holding in Adani Wilmar Ltd was a small corpus.
