In a letter dated May 23, the Dish TV Minority Investors Association urged the MCA to take immediate action by instructing the Dish TV board to promptly call for an EGM as per legal requirements.
The association, which represents 77 domestic and foreign institutional investors who collectively own 10.15% of the DTH company, had on May 15 written to the Dish TV board to convene an EGM within the stipulated 21 days.
It also called upon the ministry to initiate “stringent” measures against Dish TV directors for their multiple alleged violations of the Companies Act. The association has also asked the MCA to direct its officers to expedite action on its previous complaints.
“It’s been more than a week now and we have not yet received any response from the Dish TV management. We have informed the MCA to ensure that Dish TV’s current management takes the necessary steps to comply with the requisition notice that we have sent,” said Vis Legis Law Practice founder and partner Rahul Hingmire.
