CMTLabs stated the successful payment platform developed above Jack’s Surfboards in Huntington Beach, California utilized online virtual wallets and a digital currency service token. The platform facilitated testing services performed for industry leaders such as Intel, AMD, Micron, Samsung and Nvidia. It also enabled over 120 other manufacturers, including small companies, to pursue previously unobtainable business opportunities. The platform functioned continuously until it was taken offline in 2021 when CMTLabs completed transition from independent computer compatibility testing to DigEco (Digital Economy) Research and Development.
John Deters, Founder of CMTLabs, and former longboard surfer stated: “When Wallex, another DigEco company recently became the WSL U.S. Open of Surfing main sponsor, a potential new application was explored. It was determined the original payment platform could be modified and repurposed for a multitude fundraising applications. For this application, it can function as a new a very innovative sponsorship platform for surfers.”
Deters continued, “There are a lot of talented young surfers who could potentially go professional but simply cannot afford to do so. Unless a surfer is signed as a team member of a big-name company, it can be extremely discouraging and financially unfeasible. Big brand name sponsorship is highly competitive and team membership slots are very limited. The platform will combine the best attributes from Patreon, GoFundMe, Kickstarter, meme coins and NFTs. An entirely new and innovative more obtainable source of sponsorship funding will be available to surfers. Instead of one big name company, sponsorship can be received from a multitude of small companies and individuals. Unlike the for-profit fundraising platforms, the new sponsorship platform will operate as a non-profit business to provide maximum amount of funding back to the surfer.”
