'Destiny 2: Root of Nightmares Raid' is live. Here's what you should know

Destiny 2 is making buzz among the gaming enthusiasts as they are eagerly anticipating the initiation of the new Lightfall Raid, which starts on Friday. The Root of the Nightmare Raid is available, starting March 10 at 5 pm GMT. As expected, the Destiny 2 Raid will entail a competitive aspect as players strive to be the first to complete the World First Race.

Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, announced on Twitter that the Root of Nightmares raid would commence on March 10 at 9 AM PST, with players competing in the World First Race. In a subsequent tweet, the company confirmed that Twitch viewers, who watch for at least two hours between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM PST, will receive an exclusive emblem.

While details about the gameplay of the new raid are scarce, Bungie has provided some hints about the story, which revolves around a mysterious entity and an ancient foe, likely located in the new area introduced in Lightfall.

The World First Race for the Root of Nightmares Raid will run for just over 48 hours, starting at 5 pm GMT on March 10 and ending at 6 pm GMT on March 12. Participants must reach a Power level of 1780 to cap all encounters, and Contest Mode will limit players to 20 Power below each encounter throughout the event.

Artifact Power is enabled up to the cap of 1780, and certain items will be disabled. The first team to complete the raid, loot the final chest, and return to orbit will be declared the winner of the World First race once their completion has been verified. Validation may take some time, so teams should continue even if they suspect another team has finished first.

The winners will receive World First title belts, and Root of Nightmares jackets will be available from the Bungie Store for all who complete the raid before March 21.
