Deal of the Day: Funky hybrid Toyota C-HR for less than £280 per month

  • £278 a month for 3 years
  • £2,503 initial payment
  • A stylish, efficient hybrid at sensible money

Today’s Deal of the Day shows just how much the market can shift in only a few weeks, depending on factors like stock and manufacturer incentives. Less than a month ago, the latest Toyota C-HR would have cost you comfortably north of £500 per month – but we’ve now found a personal contract hire deal that comes in at barely half that figure.

We found Friday’s star deal through leasing aggregator leaseloco.com. It’s based on the 1.8-litre hybrid version of the second-generation C-HR, which promises lots of urban electric-only running, without the need for a home wallbox. This particular offer is based on the Design spec, too, which brings useful amounts of extra standard kit and, in this case, a two-tone paint job.

Put down £2.503 as an initial payment (equivalent to nine months of rental) and this C-HR Design comes in at £278 per month. That’s based on a three-year deal, with a workable mileage limit of 8,000 miles per year.

Of course, it’s important to remember that this is a PCH arrangement – so you’ll never own the car, and when you return it at the end of the fixed three-year agreement, you’ll not be able to use any of its equity to help pay for your next vehicle. But if you were to put the same deposit down on a three-year, 24,000-mile Toyota PCP deal, you’d be paying £495 per month – a hefty premium to have the flexibility of paying a £17,820 final payment to own the car.

The second-generation C-HR even looks pretty well kitted out in Design spec. You get heated front seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, front and rear USB-C sockets, a powered tailgate, a reversing camera and dual-zone air conditioning. As with the first-gen car, it’s a vehicle that focuses on style over practicality. There’s a little more space inside for occupants this time round, though, making the C-HR a potential choice as an efficient small family car.
