The platform will see a separate company manage data collection and flows
With all this discussion about TikTok and data collection, the platform has launched a security measure to counter the fears.
Project Clover will see a separate security company monitor the data flows.
This will make it harder for TikTok to identify individual users because of the data.
“We’re ahead of the curve on this because we have to be – because we need to earn trust,” TikTok vice-president of government relations and public policy in Europe Theo Bertram said.
This all comes on the back of FBI Director Christopher Wray being grilled by a Senate Committee about TikTok and its potential harm to Americans.
“Yes, and I would make the point on that last one, in particular, that we’re not sure that we would see many of the outward signs of it happening if it was happening,” Wray said.
