Vince Dova

Cyemptive Technologies, which provides cybersecurity solutions for business and government, has tapped former branch chief of cyber policy and capabilities with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Vince Dova, to serve as its vice president of security.

In his new role, Dova will be responsible for ensuring the security of intellectual property and client data, developing organizational and technical governance to enable the secure delivery of cybersecurity solutions, and planning security-relevant training/certification for both the company and client workforce, a release said.

“Dova’s understanding of the intersectionality of technology, society, public policy, and defense strategy will be invaluable to Cyemptive in helping us establish the organizational and operational footing to provide our security solutions to international clients at scale,” said Rob Pike, founder and CEO of Cyemptive, in a press statement.

At the Pentagon, the retired U.S. Navy commander advised the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on behalf of the J6 Command director on cyber-related matters such as military network defense and cybersecurity for the Defense Industrial Base and Defense Critical Infrastructure.

“The time I spent at the Pentagon working cyber defense policy for the Joint staff convinced me that an evolutionary approach to cybersecurity is no longer enough — we need outside-the-box innovation to level the playing field in any meaningful way against the world’s malicious cyber actors,” said Dova in a press statement. “I was intrigued by Cyemptive’s approach, and especially excited by the opportunity to join an agile, fast-growing company on the verge of doing great things.”
