Coupled saved so much they retired in their 30s – and they show you how to do it

A couple were able to meet their ‘Financial Independence, Retire Early’ (FIRE) goal in their 30s, and are now sharing ways to help others do the same.

The FIRE movement, which prompts people to adopt more frugal lifestyles, is growing in audience and now trending, encouraging people to make bigger savings and leave the workforce earlier in life, reports The Daily Express US.

After getting married in 2014, Steve Adcock and his wife Courtney, decided to push forward their plans for early retirement using the method.

Prior to leaving their roles, the Adcocks, from the US, were making over $200,000 (£157k) a year combined but still thought best to apply the ‘four percent rule’ as a part of their mission.

The hack involves people living off around three to four percent of their net worth every year, by keeping a tight track of their expenditures.
