  • Thousands are reporting that their Coinbase accounts now read “$0.”
  • Don’t freak out.
  • The cryptocurrency trading company said the assets are safe and they’re investigating an error.

If you were surprised to find your Coinbase account balance is sitting at zero, there’s no need to panic, according to the company.

The cryptocurrency exchange platform said it’s investigating an error showing a zero balance for some users on Wednesday but assured customers that their assets are safe.

“We are aware that some users may see a zero balance across their Coinbase accounts and may experience errors in buying or selling,” a representative told Business Insider.

Coinbase didn’t specify how many users have been affected by the apparent outage.

At least 8,700 people have reported an outage on Downdetector, and the comments are full of confused and complaining users.

Coinbase didn’t give BI an estimate of when it expects the issue to be resolved but said users can watch its status page for updates.
