Co-op’s £12 Valentine’s Day meal deal includes authentic Italian pizza and a bottle of fizz

VALENTINES day is nearly upon us – but with the cost-of-living crisis casting a dark cloud across the UK romantics may be more hesitant to splash the cash on the occasion.

Fortunately, Co-op is here to save the day with an incredible deal on a meal fit for a king.

The offer includes authentic Italian pizza and a bottle of fizz and starts dirt cheap at just £12.

Or, if this doesn’t take your fancy, a gastro-inspired “Irresistible” main to pair with a potato or vegetable side of choice is on the cards for just £7.

And, what better way to round of an evening of romance than with a sweet treat?

The store is also offering “love at first bite” – a selection of sweet treats with discounts on items like Irresistible Strawberry Kisses Cheesecakes and Irresistible Luxury Collection Chocolates.  

It comes as Sainsbury’s is set to launch a £15 Valentine’s Day meal deal including fizz and steak.

The special dine-in deal for two includes a starter, main meal, side dish, dessert and a drink.

Couples can treat themselves to the romantic special offer from February 7 to 14.

There is a choice of seven starters all from the supermarket’s Taste the Difference range.

Customers can choose from items including scallop gratin, leek and cheddar tart and fragrant vegetable bao buns.

Other items such as an antipasto platter and breaded camembert with cranberry are also on the menu.

Other ways to save money at Co-op

Co-op membership currently enables shoppers to earn 2p for every £1 spent on own-brand products.

The pennies earned back are stored in the member’s digital wallet a digital balance is tallied with your spending.

You can then spend the rewards you earn on most products in-store.

But this membership perk will end for good on January 24 and Co-op will solely focus on rewarding members with exclusive pricing.

Right now, customers also get access to personalised offers every week.

Shoppers also get access to the new discounted Member Prices.

Co-op introduced its new “Members Price” offer in April last year.

The cheaper prices can save the average member up to £300 a year on their grocery bills, the supermarket said.

But those who aren’t members of the scheme won’t benefit from the lower costs.

It was launched only days after The Sun revealed that Sainsbury’s was introducing lower prices for Nectar card members to rival Tesco’s Clubcard Prices.

Those wishing to sign up for the scheme can do so on the Co-op website.

You’ll be charged a one-off £1 fee to join the scheme.
