Clemson Tigers Tabbed No. 7 in United Soccer Coaches Week … – Clemson Tigers


CLEMSON, S.C. – After recording a shutout against Virginia Tech and earning a draw against Virginia, the Clemson Tigers moved to No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches week eight rankings, as announced on Tuesday.  

Against Virginia Tech, the No. 7 Tigers tabbed their 10th victory of the regular season as they finished the weekend with a 10-1-3 overall record. The Tigers and goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz also recorded their ninth shutout of the season against the Hokies. 

The Tigers entered the season ranked 25th but have continued to climb in the rankings each and every week. This marks the sixth consecutive week that the Tigers have been ranked in the top-10 as they make their No. 7 debut at the conclusion of week eight.  

Leading Clemson this season has been senior Makenna Morris, as the defender has tallied 17 points for the Tigers. Following Morris with 16 points and eight assists on the year is newcomer Jenna Tobia. 

The No. 7 Tigers will be back on the pitch to face No. 23 Duke in Durham, N.C. on Friday. Kick-off is set for 5 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ACCNX.
