Donald Trump Jr is joining a venture capital firm to invest in conservative-leaning companies, rather than joining his father’s team in the White House.
The president-elect’s eldest son will join 1789 Capital, a Florida-based venture firm “backing companies building the next era of American prosperity”, according to a person with direct knowledge of the move.
Trump Jr, who played a central role in the re-election campaign, will join as a partner.
1789 Capital targets the so-called “parallel economy”, including alternative media such as Tucker Carlson Network, as well as companies and technology that oppose environmental, social and governance issues, and “industries weighed down by excessive bureaucracy”.
