But there are so many competing offers and price drops in the run-up to the big day it can be easy to miss out on the best deal.

That’s why we’ve done the bargain hunting for you and rounded up the best deals of the week.

We used the discount-hunting site HotUKDeals and found a pretty decent deal on the 600g tubs of chocs at B&M.

We then used comparison site trolley.co.uk and compared the cost of other Christmas chocolates including Celebrations, Roses, Ferrero Rochers and Heroes.

The website searches and compares the prices of 130,000 products across all the major shops.

It means it’s a great way to make sure you’re not missing out on a big saving.

But you’ll have to be quick because some of the offers are only available for a set period.

The biggest saving we found from the cheapest to the most expensive was a whopping £3.25.

It goes to show it always pays to compare prices so you know you’re getting the best deal.

As we get closer to Christmas, it’s important to be aware that there are always sales and special offers on big tubs.

Last year saw major retailers drop the price to as little as £3.49 in late November so it might be a good idea to hold your horses and see if any better offers hit shelves.

Below we compare the current prices of Christmas chocs across the big supermarkets and retailers.

Quality Street

The cheapest supermarket selling a 600g tub of Quality Street is currently B&M.

The discount chain is charging £3.50 a tub, the cheapest available so far this year.

Asda is the second cheapest at £4 a tub, but you have to buy two for £8 to get the deals – otherwise, they’re £4.50.

Ocado is the next lowest price at £4.50.

At the other end of the scale, Iceland has the highest price at £5.50.

Celebrations

Aldi is selling the cheapest tubs of Celebrations this week.

The discounter is offering them for just £3.99, down from £4.49.

Asda comes in second selling the chocs for £4.50.

But again, if you fancy doubling up you can get two boxes for £8.

Morrisons and Tesco are in at third for £5 a box.

Iceland is the most expensive again at £5.50 again.

Ferrero Rocher

Ferrero Rochers are one of the posher choices for a chocolate Christmas treat.

It means they’re always a bit more expensive than the average tub of festive chocolates.

The cheapest choice we found for a box of 24 was at Sainsbury’s for just £5.

That’s only if you’re armed with a handy Nectar card though – otherwise, you’ll be paying a whopping £9.50.

Tesco is the next cheapest at £6 for Tesco Clubcard shoppers.

The most expensive retailer without a loyalty scheme offer is Boots for £8.25.

Roses

Cadbury fans have a great festive option in Roses tubs.

The choccies are also on offer at Asda this week for £4 a tub, or £4.50 if you don’t buy two.

Morrisons and Tesco are selling a 550g tub for £5 each.

Ocado is the priciest shop, selling them for £6 each.

Heroes

Heroes offers the ideal combination of all your favourite Cadbury chocolates for the festive season.

Of all the supermarkets listed on Trolley, the cheapest tub for Heroes is £4 at Asda in its 2-for-£8 deal.

But you’d be left paying £4.50 if you just fancy one though.

Next up is Tesco and Morrisons for £5 a tub.

Sainsbury’s is the priciest at £5.50 for the same 550g box.

Elsewhere, we reveal the cheapest places to buy Cadbury selection boxes this week – and it’s not Aldi or Morrisons.

Plus, Celebrations fans are rushing to buy boxes of their favourite sweets – to be in with a chance of winning £25,000 in time for Christmas.
