BUSINESS LIVE: Shell posts record $40bn profits on soaring prices; BT revenues slip in third quarter; Superdry boss denies delisting plans

The Bank of England will reveal its decision on interest rates at midday and is expected to follow the European Central Bank with a 50bps hike, taking UK base rate to 4 per cent.  

The FTSE 100 is up 0.6 per cent in midday trading. Among the companies with reports and trading updates today are Shell, BT, Superdry, Safestyle UK, Bunzl and Cranswick. Read the Thursday 2 February Business Live blog below.
