The customary ‘halwa ceremony’ on Thursday will kick off the printing of FY24 budget documents.
The halwa ceremony marks the beginning of a ten-day “lock-in” period in which many in the ministry are quarantined in the bowels of the North Block to maintain budget secrecy.
The budget is keenly awaited by all stakeholders as its the last full budget of the Narendra Modi government before the 2024 general elections.
