There’s a very simple way for BT broadband users to save some serious money and get faster speeds at the same time. Plusnet, which is actually owned by BT, has just launched some enticing broadband plans which offer downloads in excess of 800Mbps for a pretty reasonable price – in fact, a quick tap on the calculator reveals that you’ll instantly save money if you make the switch from BT.
As a good example, Plusnet is now offering hyper-fast 900Mbps downloads for £43.99 per month on a two-year deal. BT also has 900Mbps speeds with prices starting at £27.99 for the first five months but this then rises rising to £54.99 for the rest of the contract.
Do the maths and you’ll find that Plusnet is £129 cheaper than BT over the full term of the deal. Another bonus is that Plusnet doesn’t charge a fee for signing up – BT wants an extra £29.99 out of your bank account which makes this internet access even more expensive.
As a quick guide, 900Mbps speeds will let you download a full HD movie in under 40 seconds and is over 10 times than the current UK average.
If that sounds a bit quick for needs then Plusnet also has Full Fibre 500 for £34.99 or Full Fibre 145 for £27.99.
Once again, both of these deals are cheaper than BT’s plans – even with the firm’s 5-month discount on its plans.
