BlackDice appoints former Hewlett Packard security chief – Prolific North


Leeds-based cybersecurity start-up BlackDice has appointed Mark O’Neill as its new chief technology officer.

O’Neill brings a wealth of experience and expertise to BlackDice, most recently as senior security advisor at DXC Technology and eight years at Hewlett Packard where he served as the client security officer for a multinational oil and gas client. His arrival further strengths the start-up’s position as one to watch in the cybersecurity market.

O’Neill will lead BlackDice’s technological vision, spearheading innovation and driving transformative growth across all aspects of the company.

As CTO, he will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of BlackDice’s technology roadmap. His extensive knowledge in security, software development, and IT infrastructure will play a crucial role in enhancing the company’s existing offerings, as well as developing new customer-centric solutions, focused on the company’s vision to ‘keep people safe online’.

O’Neill will be based in Leeds at the company’s new UK headquarters, and will help drive the company’s innovation agenda. O’Neill’s appointment is the latest in a significant recruitment drive for the start-up, currently recruiting across several disciplines in product management, data science, test engineers, full stack and mobile developers for the Leeds office, which serves as the company’s technology operations hub.
