Spoiler Alert!
As David’s wife and children were brutally killed in the initial episodes, and his replica was also destroyed, he then concentrates on his space mission. However, Cliff’s wife Lana suggests David take off from work. David accepts the suggestion and takes some days off and breaks down in Lana’s arms while crying.
Also, Lana doesn’t like David coming closer to her and she discloses this to Cliff. As David returns to Cliff’s body multiple times, she keeps pushing him away.
David uses Cliff’s replica. However one day Cliff finds out Lana’s paintings in David’s bunker many of them with objectionable poses. This embarks suspicion in Cliff’s mind and doubt for his wife. However, things settle down between them later.
Suddenly one day, Cliff’s replica gets an emergency alert. David then leaves the chamber and starts investigating the problem.
Later, everything is sorted however Cliff’s bunker is plugged off and the replica awakes back on Earth. He is horrified to notice blood coming from his hands and head. He then makes his way home where he notices blood all the way and handprints across the house and finds out his wife and children are dead.
This is what happens in the episode. It all ends with David and Cliff both on the same page with loss and solitude.
