Billions of Gmail users urged to click hidden ‘security check up’ button – it could save you from bank empt… – The US Sun

IT’S important to stay on top of your internet security what with cyber thieves constantly looking for new ways to raid your accounts.

Getting into your Gmail would be a honeypot for scammers, with access to your personal information and the ability to break into other accounts.

Scroll to the bottom of your Gmail account for account activity

But how do you know if someone is logged into your Gmail account?

Usually, you should receive a sign-in alert from Google.

If you want to be extra sure no-one is lurking, there is another way worth checking.

Little do most users realise, there’s a clever tool right at the bottom of your Gmail account on desktop.

It reveals whether your account is open in another location other than the one you’re using right now.

Chances are, there’s at least one other listed, your iPhone or Android smartphone.

It will say, “Open in X other locations” if that it is indeed the case, with a “Details” link.

Accounts not signed into anywhere else will just show the “Details” link, meaning you’re in the clear at present.

However, you can click that link for even more useful information.

It opens the Gmail account activity log.

From here, you can see all recent account login activity, the type of device and location.

If you see an unfamiliar country or something else that doesn’t look right, you might want to reset your password.
