Bette Nash, Guinness World Record holder, world's longest serving flight attendant dies. Check cause of death



Bette Nash, who served American Airlines for nearly seven decades as flight attendant, has passed away. She was 88-year-old. Nash was associated with American Airlines for 67 years and became the world’s longest serving flight attendant, as per a report on ABC news.

She died after battling breast cancer, as per the report.

Nash began her illustrious career in 1957. She still holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving flight attendant.

American Airlines has posted a condolence message and video paying homage and highlighting her achievements.

“We mourn the passing of flight attendant Bette Nash who spent nearly seven decades warmly caring for our customers in the air. She started her career in 1957 and proudly held the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving flight attendant. Bette was a legend at American and throughout the industry, inspiring generations of flight attendants. Fly high, Bette. We’ll miss you,” American Airlines wrote.

While Nash joined Eastern Airlines, which subsequently became American Airlines, in Washington, D.C, in 1957, she never officially retired from the position. In 2022, she received the Guinness World Record award.
