Belvidere auto repair shop catches fire – WIFR


ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Belvidere Fire Department responds to a report of a fire around 9 a.m. at 422 N. State Street, according to Belvidere Fire Department Captain David Burdick.

Reports say the fire appeared to come from the garage of Temple’s 5 Star Mufflers.

The Boone County Sheriff’s emergency response vehicle left the scene around 10:20 a.m.

Police blocked off N. State Street between W. Perry Street and W. Madison Street, but the streets have since reopened.

There is no information about what started the fire, and no injuries have been reported at this time. The Belvidere Fire Department is investigating.
