MOREHEAD, Ky. — The Chattanooga Mocs beach volleyball team finished the final day of the “OVC Weekend at Morehead State” event with a doubleheader split, earning a 4-1 win over Tennessee Tech and dropping 3-2 contest to host Morehead State, Saturday afternoon in Morehead, Ky.
Following the split, Chattanooga concludes regular season play with a 17-13 overall record and a 7-3 tally in OVC action. The Mocs finish second in the regular season standings for the second time in three seasons as a program.
Chattanooga finished three matches behind OVC regular season champion and defending tournament champion UT Martin who capped off a perfect conference season at 10-0. The Mocs will enter next weekend’s OVC Tournament on the campus of UT Martin in Martin, Tenn., as the No. 2 seed.
With the No. 2 seed designation, UTC has earned a first round BYE in the double elimination format and will await the winner of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in the winners bracket quarterfinal round on Thursday. For complete 2023 OVC Beach Volleyball Championship information, please visit here.
