Banks will be open or closed in Maharashtra for State Assembly election on November 20?



Maharashtra government has declared a public holiday throughout the whole state for the state assembly elections. In order to facilitate voting in the state on November 20, government offices and other associated organizations will be closed.

Maharashtra: Will banks be closed on November 20

According to the Reserve Bank of India holiday list, banks will be closed on November 20 for Assembly General Election, 2024.

Bank customers can make bank transactions anytime from anywhere, including on public holidays or on such holidays. Bank customers should be sure to sign up for mobile banking and net banking so that work does not a standstill.

Bhushan Gagrani, the district election officer and municipal commissioner for Mumbai, has ordered that companies in the Brihanmumbai boundaries permit their workers to take time off in order to cast votes in the November 20 Maharashtra assembly elections. Gagrani said in a formal statement on Wednesday that any workplace that does not follow the Election Commission’s standards will be subject to sanctions.

Banks will be closed during Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan), Kut festival, Kannada Rajyothsava, Balipadyami, Vikram Samvant New Year Day, Chhath (Evening Arghya), Chhath (Morning Arghya)/Wangala Festival, Egaas-Bagwaal, Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima, Kanakadasa Jayanti, Seng Kutsnem, according to the RBI website.Bank holidays in November 2024
