Indian Bajaj Motors is set to release its compressed natural gas (CNG) powered motorbike in June of this year. Similar in principle to liquified natural gas (LPG), this technology could dramatically reduce the environmental impact of motorbikes in the future.
As its name implies, CNG is produced by compressing natural gas to less than 1% of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure. Once in this state, it can be used as a fuel source for internal combustion engines.
