The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University has announced training opportunities during March and April.

The ASBTDC regional office at ATU is designed to assist new, existing and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including free one-to-one confidential consulting, free market research and low-cost or free training.

Arkansas Tech University faculty, staff and students may attend at no charge if seats are available.

Thursday, March 30 | SBA Loans: Making a Difference

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University presents “SBA Loans: Making a Difference” from 9:30-11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, at Arkansas Tech in Russellville. Because of reduced bank risk, Small Business Administration-backed loans allow lenders to provide financial opportunities not available under conventional loans. This can make a difference for small business owners who might not otherwise qualify for funding. SBA lender Itzel Meador will explain how SBA loans work and how they can make a difference for small businesses. There is no charge to attend due to a sponsorship from First Security Bank. Wednesday, April 5 | Making a Marketing Map for Your Business

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University presents “Make a Marketing Map for Your Business” on Wednesday, April 5, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Arkansas Tech in Russellville. At this interactive event, participants will learn basic marketing concepts and sketch out their own marketing map, a quick-action plan for assessing and promoting a business. There is no charge to attend due to a sponsorship from Simmons Bank. Thursday, April 20 | QuickBooks Desktop Basics and Beyond

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University presents “QuickBooks Desktop Basics and Beyond” from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. This interactive workshop is for those using or planning to use QuickBooks Desktop (Pro, Premier or Enterprise) software. Topics build from navigation and company set up to reconciling accounts, handling revenue, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank feeds, inventory, customizing reports and more. A computer and take-home workbook are provided. Cost to attend is $130. The ASBTDC regional office at ATU is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U. S. Small Business Administration through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the ATU College of Business and Economic Development.
