Apple’s weeklong annual developer conference WWDC 2023 is set to kick off on June 5, 2023.
Every year, the iPhone maker holds a much-awaited launch event led by CEO Tim Cook who introduces new products and software that are due to be launched in the coming months.
This year, everyone is hoping that the company’s long-rumoured mixed reality wearable device makes an appearance.
Apple’s first augmented reality headset is expected to enable users to see virtual items overlaid on the real world in front of them.
The conference itself is primarily for software developers who will get unique access to Apple engineers, as well as insight into the latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS advancements.
‘WWDC is one of our favorite times of the year at Apple because it’s an opportunity to connect with the talented developers from around the globe who make this community so extraordinary,’ said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations.
‘WWDC23 is going to be our biggest and most exciting yet, and we can’t wait to see many of you online and in person at this very special event!’
The event will be online for all registered developers, with a special in-person event on June 5 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
Apple’s much-awaited mixed reality headset was a no-show last year’s conference.
While the company made some big announcements like a redesigned MacBook Air and a refreshed MacBook Pro, enthusiasts sorely missed any hints about the rumoured headset.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had previously predicted that the headset would be unveiled in a 2023 event with pre-orders starting in the second quarter of the year.
This year experts are also expecting a new Mac Pro with M2 Ultra chip or a new iMac.
